Promoting ewe longevity has been a key focus for AHDB’s Challenge Sheep project, which aims to further understand influences on ewe lifetime performance and best practice for managing replacement ewes. On this webinar we will be joined by AHDB’s Animal Health & Welfare scientist Dr Amey Brassington who manages the Challenge Sheep project, and Dr Kate Flay who recently completed her PhD investigating longevity and wastage in New Zealand commercial ewes. They will run through the latest research on ewe longevity, and offer practical advice on the following;

  • The most common causes of why ewes leave the flock early
  • Making informed culling decisions
  • How to assess ewe performance.

To find out more about the latest research, sign up to this free webinar today. You can still register even if you can't make the date and time, and you will receive a recording after the event.
