Northumberland Beef & Lamb Strategic Farm: Growing a viable farming business for the future

Join us for this on-farm event with our Beef & Lamb Strategic Farmer Steven Lawson, who will talk through some of the changes he has implemented since joining the Farm Excellence network two years ago. Steven has increased his farming business by more than double, now extending to 307ha of mixed ground. With no increase in full time labour and significant changes underway within the business, find out what he plans to do next.

Designing the optimum farming business which delivers financial benefits, environment benefits as well as meeting your personal objectives can be a fine balance. The discussion will be facilitated by independent consultant Dr Liz Genever and other special guests who will share advice on business productivity. 

The event will cover topics including:

• Managing farm business expansion

• Environmental benefits and impacts, including carbon audit results

• Understanding cash flow and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
