POSTPONED: AHDB Challenge Sheep: Pre-tupping management of ewes and rams

Event postponed 

Ian Wilson is part of AHDB’s Challenge Sheep project, which focuses on identifying ways of improving flock efficiency and profitability. This on-farm event will give other sheep farmers the opportunity to hear about some of the changes Ian has implemented on his farm based on outcomes from the data he has collected during the project.

Joining Ian will be Dawn Bowness, a farm vet and project facilitator. Dawn will discuss Ian’s Challenge Sheep data so far as well as provide a practical demonstration of pre-tupping management of ewes and rams.

• An overview of the past two years’ worth of Challenge Sheep data collected from Searchlight Farm
• A review of the insights from the whole project
• A practical group activity on understanding quarantine protocols for purchased sheep pre-tupping
• Ewe management pre-tupping
• Ram MOT pre-tupping, including practical demonstration of tup examinations
