Making a success of outwintering cattle

The webinar will be suitable for beef and dairy farmers who plan to outwinter their cattle. There will be guidance on how to determine the suitability of your fields and decide which crop is most suitable for your system.

­Outwintering has the potential to reduce costs through reducing bedding and feed requirements. There is also the potential to increase herd size or free up housing for other stock, such as finishing cattle. However, outwintering needs proper planning and preparation for most eventualities – we will discuss the many factors to consider to make a success of outwintering.
