Levy payers ratify AHDB sector council appointments
Tuesday, 16 December 2025
Levy payers have ratified three new and 10 second-term appointments across our four sector councils, following an open and competitive selection process.
Levy payers were able to vote in each of the sectors for which they pay a levy between Monday 1 December and Friday 12 December.
Sector council members are primarily levy payers from each sector. Vacancies are advertised on the our website, social media channels and external job boards.
Applicants then go through a competitive selection process based on their skills and their ability to provide balance across the different levy-paying supply chain elements within each sector.
Those selected are confirmed through a levy payer ratification vote.
Some councils also have an 'independent' member (i.e. a non-levy payer) who can contribute with additional skills such as finance or sector relevant supply chain experience.
Each sector council member will serve for a term of three years, with a maximum of two terms. They will receive £256.25 per day for up to two days a month.
The 13 members ratified are:
- Beef & Lamb – three second-term
- Cereals & Oilseeds – two new and two second-term
- Dairy – three second-term
- Pork – one new and two second-term
The voting process was independently managed by specialist election company UK Engage.
