The encyclopaedia of arable weeds
This definitive guide to arable weeds in the UK contains full colour photographs for identification plus information on life cycles, location, biology and management
The encyclopaedia of arable weeds has been around 10 years and has taken up residence in numerous tractor cabs, car boots and farm offices across the UK.
Originally put together with combined funds from AHDB and Defra, the essential easy-reference guide was rebranded in 2018. Although the content has not been changed this time around, the new look makes it even easier to identify and manage arable weeds.
For each weed, there are two pages of information (structured identically). The common and the scientific name are clearly marked at the top of the page. A more detailed description then follows under the headings; Life cycle, Location, Description (including key features), Biology and Management.
To aid identification, the encyclopaedia is packed full of high quality photographs of weeds at various growth stages.
A simple glossary of technical terms can also be found at the end of the encyclopaedia.
Further species, as well as identification keys, can be accessed from the web-based encyclopaedia cereals.ahdb.org.uk/awe.
