Have you been tempted to introduce electronic identification (EID) tags into your flock but are worried that technology is not for you? Fear no more. Using EID is a lot easier than you might think and can make your job a lot more efficient.

This on-farm event is kindly hosted by AHDB Challenge Sheep farmers, Rob and Anna Hawke. Rob and Anna have been part of the Challenge Sheep project for four years and have been collecting data using EID to identify ways of improving flock efficiency and profitability.

Joining them at this event will be their project facilitator and farm vet, Emily Gascoigne from Synergy Farm Health Ltd. Emily, Rob and Anna will talk through their journey of introducing EID tags to the flock and review shearling performance over the last few years based on their collected data.

Timetable

  • Introduction to EID
  • Rob and Anna's journey into using EID
  • Spring balance weight and hand-held readers
