The GB all-prime average deadweight cattle price dropped by 1.4p for the week ending 12 February to 403.7p/kg. Prices have been steadily dropping week on week since the beginning of the new year where the price was 408.4p/kg.

French lamb production, in contrast to British production, peaks in the Spring. Therefore, the French market is just now heading into peak production. Last year France produced 81,800 tonnes of sheep meat in total, a similar total volume to 2020, and to the five-year average.
