New round of stockperson training starts soon

Wednesday, 9 November 2022

Following the ongoing popularity of our Stockperson Development Scheme, we are running a new round of training that starts this month.

The Stockperson Development Scheme is a series of six workshops that follow the full pig production cycle, from service to sale, focusing on basic knowledge and everyday tasks.

The training is suitable for anyone who is new to the industry and working on a commercial unit, or who would like to refresh their knowledge or learn about a different department.

The first sessions will focus on artificial insemination, service and breeding; these will take place later this month (November 2022). The remaining sessions will take place from December until April 2023. You can choose to take part in individual sessions or the whole course (six sessions).

The full course cost to levy payers is £250+VAT*, which includes all sessions, lunch and course materials.

Individual sessions can be attended on an ad hoc basis at a cost of £50+VAT* per session.
