This session covers finisher pig management and costs £35.00.

The Stockman Development Scheme is a combination of pig production workshops, covering each stage of production from service to slaughter, delivered by technical experts. Focusing on basic knowledge and everyday tasks, it is suitable for individuals who are new to the industry or wish to refresh their knowledge. Sessions are interactive, and encourage input from all participants, enabling the sharing of knowledge and practices.
Learning outcomes:
1. To be able to identify three piglet requirements at weaning
2. To be able to explain how to prepare weaner accommodation
3. To be able to explain the importance of getting weaned piglets eating
4. To be able to explain how stress at weaning can be reduced
5. To be able to identify three factors affecting weaned pig growth
