Shropshire: Healthy Soils, Healthy Swards
Join us for this on-farm event running with Park Issa Vets focusing on how you can manage your soils and swards so they deliver maximum output, whether that’s for grazed grass or silage, with the expertise of independent consultant George Fisher. If you would like to have more confidence around how to manage your soils to make the most of grass, then this meeting is for you.
Henry Jones at Hilley farm is kindly hosting the meeting, with new reseeds to assess on land that is prone to flooding there will be plenty to discuss and principles to take home.
The meeting will cover:
- Assessing soil structure
- Understanding soil analysis
- Correcting soil indices
- Improving grass leys with use of appropriate seed mixtures and establishment methods
- Using muck and slurry to your advantage
