Pilton Monitor Farm: Summer farm walk – navigating the rotational maize with the MGA
Come and join Mike, Neil and the team at our Pilton Monitor Farm for the annual summer walk.
This year we are collaborating with Jon Myhill and the MGA (Maize Growers Association) to discuss growing maize in the arable rotation with a focus on fusarium management in the subsequent crop (up-to-date AHDB research will be presented – please feel free to call or email ahead of the meeting to see this prior to your own T3 application timing).
In addition to ear disease, we will also see the effect of a biologicals application on the wheat area with associated data available from Syngenta.
Finally, representatives from John Deere, Wessex Water and ADAS (Agricultural Development and Advisory Service) will also be on hand to discuss the myriad of related issues seen this season and within this specific rotational context.
Please bring suitable footwear and clothing for a field walk and discussion outdoors, and do book ahead to assist us with planning the catering – a light supper will be provided.
We look forward to seeing you at Beard Hill, please note we will be starting this meeting promptly at 4pm.
BASIS and NRoSO points will be available.
