Newbury Monitor Farm summer meeting

Join us for a farm walk with Rob Waterston, Farm Manager at Welford Park, as we launch the new Newbury Monitor Farm.

We look forward to welcoming you back on-farm to see what the focus, objectives and plans are for the next three years on this estate's arable farm.

During this farm walk we will be discussing:

• Grain nutrition, soil health and carbon reviews already completed on the farm
• Estate farm, farmer, farming - future strategy
• Wheat, spring barley and triticale agronomy
• Cover crop strategy
• Machinery and cultivation strategy
• Living mulch project
• Costs of production - AHDB Farmbench
• Strengths and weaknesses of the farm
• Topics and objectives for the three-year programme

The session will be an opportunity to discuss current topics and activity at your local Monitor Farm. We hope to finish the meeting with a light supper, subject to Covid regulations.

This meeting will be subject to the Covid regulations set out by the Government and implemented by AHDB. Hand sanitiser stations will also be available and social distancing measures may be in place.
