Join us for a farm walk at Loppington Monitor Farm this summer.

We look forward to welcoming you to have a look at the cropping for harvest 2021 on-farm and a discussion as we go round on:

  • Soil management for autumn crop establishment – look at the different cultivation methods & compare how they have impacted on earthworms, soil structure & health and crop performance.
  • Blended varieties – can growing a blend of wheat varieties have benefits for the bottom line of your farm business? How does Rory’s crop of blended varieties compare against other wheats on the farm?
  • Fungicide programmes and strategies, including a look at the AHDB ADAS Fungicide Challenge trial for this year…what strategies have the different entrants taken? How does this compare to yours on-farm – disease level, inputs, margin, yield potential?
  • Carbon calculators – have you completed one yet? Hear the findings from Rory’s carbon review and discuss the best next steps for the farm to reduce emissions
  • Break crops – see the break crops on farm this year including beans and oilseed – what are the prospects for OSR for Harvest 2022?

We will be outside for a farm walk, so please bring appropriate footwear and clothing for the weather. Hand sanitiser stations will be available and social distancing measures will be in place.
