Hale Village Monitor Farm summer meeting
Join us for our Hale Village Monitor Farm summer farm walk this month with Bill Webb.
We look forward to welcoming you to catch up on what has been happening at the Monitor Farm since we last met, and this season so far, as well as to have a look at the cropping for harvest 2021.
During this farm walk we will be discussing:
- Compost try out – this season Bill has carried out split field try out testing the effect of compost applications. We will look to see if there are differences in the crop as well as the soil.
- Soil Health Review – we will discuss the results of the soil health review conducted last winter, looking at what Bill could focus on.
- Fungicide Challenge – this season a few members of the group have been taking part in the fungicide challenge, we will discuss the disease pressure this season and their approaches (more information here: https://ahdb.org.uk/wheat-fungicide-margin-challenge-adas-ahdb)
The session will be an opportunity to discuss current topics and activity at your local Monitor Farm.
This meeting will be subject to the COVID regulations set out by the Government and implemented by AHDB. Hand sanitiser stations will also be available and social distancing measures may be in place.
