2:00pm - 4:00pm

Chathill Farm Cottages, Chathill, Northumberland

Join us for the launch of Chathill Monitor Farm.

Farm host Pip Robson is a big believer in using integrated farm management in which different aspects of the business complement each other. During this session we will explore the aims and objectives of the farm for the next three years, delving into matters such as agronomy, cultivation techniques, machinery and the carbon cycle as Pip works to make his business carbon neutral.

This session will be an opportunity to discuss current topics and activity at your local Monitor Farm, and how the programme will evolve for the coming winter season. Topics to be discussed include:

  • An introduction to the farm business, including soil type, cropping and cultivation strategy
  • The machinery and equipment on the farm – highlighting benefits of using Farmbench
  • Grain storage and marketing
  • Diversification of the business

The meeting will also be an the opportunity to look at the strengths and weaknesses of the business and to identify key local issues, opportunities and topics that you would be interested in covering over the next three years.

We look forward to welcoming you back on-farm to see what the focus, objectives and plans are for the next three years on this mixed farm.

Due to coronavirus restrictions, this meeting will be limited to 30 people - booking is therefore essential. Refreshments will not be provided but bottled water will be available. Hand sanitiser stations will also be available and social distancing measures will be in place.
