Liveweight down, deadweight up for lamb prices

In the week ending 18 May, liveweight lamb prices declined with the OSL SQQ dropping 13.7p, to 255.6p/kg, and the NSL SQQ dropping 7.4p, to 323.3p/kg.
Estimated market throughputs stood at 98,754 head (OSL and NSL) over the week, down 9% from the previous week.

Deadweight prices rose during the week ending 14 May. The GB OSL SQQ averaged 605.1p/kg, up 1.8p from the week before, and the NSL SQQ rose by 17.0p to average 676.4p/kg.
Estimated slaughter of clean sheep stood at 186,052 head for the week, up 8% from the previous week.
