Ladies in Pigs educate through experience

Wednesday, 2 July 2025

As part of our 2025 education strategy, we are proud to continue supporting Ladies in Pigs (LIPs) – a dynamic group of women passionate about promoting British pork.

Their practical, hands-on approach to food education aligns perfectly with our goal of helping children become informed, confident consumers through engaging learning experiences.

Throughout the year, LIPs is delivering cookery demonstrations and interactive sessions in schools and at public events across the country. These sessions showcase how to cook with British pork while also highlighting the importance of choosing locally produced, high-welfare meat.

Their work connects children with where food comes from and gives families the tools and confidence to cook nutritious pork meals.

For consumers, this promotes greater awareness of British farming and the benefits of choosing sustainably and responsibly produced pork products. For children, it’s new skills and understanding food beyond the supermarket shelf.

For levy payers, it means valuable promotion of British pork to the next generation – creating demand and trust in tomorrow’s consumers.

Investment in partnerships with the likes of LIPs helps secure a stronger future for the pork sector through education, inspiration and positive experiences with British food.
