10:45am - 2:45pm

Carpenters Farm, Avon, Chippenham, Wiltshire

SN15 4LS

Find out how performance at Carpenters Farm, run by Joe and Irving Carter, has been influenced by age at first calving and rearing costs at our next strategic farm meeting.

We welcome special guests, Andy Dodd (Farm Consultancy Group) and David Ball (Buildings and Environment team, AHDB) who will identify key areas of focus for the Carters.

Strategic farms encourage farmer-to-farmer learning by hosting regular on-farm meetings and openly sharing their figures against our optimal dairy systems defined key performance indicators (KPIs).

The meeting will give you an overview of the farm business, including:

  • Creating the best habitat for the calf – David Ball
  • How does efficient calf performance contribute to a dairy business – Andy Dodd
  • Current technical and financial performance against AHDB’s KPIs for all-year-round calving herds
  • Long-term vision for the farm, including a critical look at areas for improvement and future focus

If you’re interested in benchmarking and want to find out more about a high-performing all-year-round calving herd, then this meeting is for you.
