UK feed wheat futures (May 26) closed unchanged at £170.10/t yesterday. The new crop contract (Nov 26) eased slightly, by £0.15/t to £173.75/t. Paris milling wheat futures (May 26) decreased by 0.8%.

This morning, Defra released its estimates for 2025 UK cereal and oilseed production. These are the first ‘official’ numbers; AHDB published provisional UK cereal and oilseed rape production estimates back in October, using Defra England and Scottish Government provisional data, with estimates for Wales and Northen Ireland. So how do the final official estimates, compare to our provisional forecasts and what does this mean for UK supply and demand this season?

UK feed wheat futures (May-26) fell by £0.90/t yesterday to close at £170.35/t, setting a new contract low. Domestic prices tracked global markets lower, with Chicago wheat and Paris milling wheat futures (May-26) also easing, as expectations of ample supply continue to weigh on sentiment.
