Want to make confident, evidence-based decisions on your farm? Join AHDB Cereals & Oilseeds for a hands-on workshop focused on the design, delivery and interpretation of on-farm trials.

Through practical exercises and real-world examples, you'll explore different trial approaches, from simple field comparisons to strip trials, randomised block designs and alternate tramline trials. Learn how to develop robust research questions, set suitable controls, collect meaningful data and interpret results with confidence.

The session will also cover opportunities for funding through the ADOPT programme and provide practical guidance on protocols, measurements, standard operating procedures, reporting and communicating results.

By attending, you'll learn how to:

  • Design scientifically valid and practical on-farm trials
  • Define clear trial objectives linked to farm business goal
  • Account for field variability and improve confidence in results
  • Select appropriate methods for data collection and monitoring
  • Apply basic analysis techniques to support decision making

Ideal for farmers, agronomists and advisers looking to turn on-farm questions into reliable, actionable evidence.

BASIS Points and lunch included.
