Vote to ratify new sector council members

Monday, 1 December 2025

Levy payers are being asked to vote to ratify three appointments and 10 reappointments across our four sector councils.

With the new roles having been advertised on our website, social media channels and external job boards, voting will be open from Monday 1 December and Friday 12 December 2025. Levy payers will be able to vote in each of the sectors for which they pay a levy.

Sector council members are predominantly levy payers from each sector. Selection is based on the skills  and experience they have and their ability to provide balance across the different levy-paying supply chain elements in each sector.

Those who are selected will then be confirmed through this levy payer ratification vote.

Some councils also have 'independent' members (i.e. a non-levy payer) who can contribute with additional key skills to assist councils in their work, for example sector-relevant supply chain experience or agronomy.

Each sector council member will serve for a term of three years, with a maximum of two terms. They will receive £256.25 per day for up to two days a month.

The number of members to be ratified are:

  • Beef & Lamb – three (reappointments only)
  • Cereals & Oilseeds – four (two new appointments and two reappointments)
  • Dairy – three (reappointments only)
  • Pork – three (one new appointment and two reappointments)

The voting process is being independently managed by a specialist election company – UK Engage. The results will be confirmed and communicated to levy payers in late December.
