Exports

The UK exported 7,200 tonnes of fresh and frozen beef in January, a decrease of 31% (3,300 tonnes) from December. This is driven by reduced quantities going to Ireland and France, each receiving nearly 1,000 tonnes less. Year on year, exports in January 2022 are up 55%, demonstrating that some post Brexit difficulties have been overcome, however export volumes are 17% below the 5-year average. The average value of exported product has increased 18% year-on-year to £3,700/tonne in January.
