Lamb prices up again

Lamb farmgate prices have again recorded some week-on-week rises. In the week ended 29 January, the GB liveweight OSL SQQ increased 4p, to 216.63p/kg. Meanwhile throughputs were back 6% on-the-week, to 98,000 head. With the current wet weather lamb finishing is being hampered.

During the week ending 25 January, the GB deadweight OSL SQQ increased almost 9p, to 463.4p/kg. GB estimated kill dropped on-the-week to 231,300 head. Although this is still up year-on-year.
