Taking stock - forecasting feed budgets and milk volumes

Past Event

Thursday, 30 April 2020

11:00am - 12:00pm

A few weeks on from the initial shock from the Coronavirus outbreak, now is the time to take stock, forward plan and re-evaluate farm output expectations, as well as considering how to maximise possible returns.

In this webinar, we’ll explain how to create a new feed budget or adapt your existing plan to suit your current situation. We’ll highlight the tools to calculate milk output and income, and how ‘what if’ scenarios can help make informed decisions, including:

• How to set up a feed budget
• Accounting for extra forage allocation in your feed budget
• How to forecast milk volume expectations asses how this could affect income

The webinar is most relevant for dairy farmers who have taken action to reduce milk volumes and now need to take stock of current position and re-plan feed budgets and milk projections; however, all are welcome to join us.

It will last for just one hour and there’ll be plenty of time for questions. It will be recorded so you can catch up later if you are unable to watch live.

This is the final session of three weekly webinars to address some of the challenges to dairy farmers brought about by the Coronavirus situation.

We do hope you’re able to join us.
