Monitor Farm meeting: Pembrokeshire

The November Pembrokeshire Monitor Farm meeting will be exploring soil assessment approaches and soil management strategies with leadingsoil expert Liz Stockdale from NIAB and farmer David Blacker from Yorkshire. At this meeting we will be aiming to evaluate:

• What is a healthy soil?
• What soil components are useful and realistic to measure?
• Soil health at the Pembrokeshire Monitor Farm; where is it now?
• How can we boost soil fertility? Organic amendments? Cover crops?
• Incorporating potato production into an arable rotation
• Cutting compaction on farm
• The cost of recreational tillage
