In-field flowering strips ‘how to’ workshop – foundation session
Webinar recording
Our Strategic Cereal Farms are looking at the effect that in-field flowering strips might have – both on numbers of pests, beneficials and also on the crop itself.
Join us for this workshop where Richard Pywell, (Centre for Ecology & Hydrology) and Julian Gold (Hendred Farming Partnership) will talk through why arable growers might consider using in-field flowering strips with the aim to help manage and control pests.
This workshop session will aim to answer questions like:
- What can pest and beneficials do to help the productivity of my cereal crops?
- How can I encourage pests and beneficials to my farm?
- Why would I use in-field flowering strips to encourage pest and beneficials?
- Is there a threshold of pest activity that I should be looking for on my farm?
- What are the best flower and grass species to grow for cereal pests?
- How do I get started?
BASIS and NRoSO points are available for attending/watching this webinar.
