Working together to bring you the 2019 spring farm walks:

What are the practical aspects of growing a successful business through grass and forage?

Join AHDB Dairy, BGS and LIC on our farm walk where we explore how Dairy farmers Colin and Sean Nicholson have optimised their grass management.

  • Transition to autumn block calving: Hear how transitioning from all year round calving to autumn block calving has improved profitability and lifestyle.
  • Grass management: Understand how to manage the fresh autumn calved cow at grass – maintain fertility, minimise body condition loss whilst attaining peak yield.
  • Forage management – multi cut: We will discuss how the hosts have challenged concentrate use and driven farm output by increasing grass growth and quality.
  • Breeding the right cow: Breeding the right cow for the system, a fertile cow that can graze AND eat silage!
