Cereal disease management: prevent, detect, control
With the chemical toolbox reducing, it is more important than ever before to take an integrated approach to disease management. In this session we will look at different approaches to prevent, detect and control cereal diseases.
Tim Parton (Brewood Park Farm) will discuss how gaining better understanding of the nutritional and biological connection between soil and plants has led to him producing healthier plants that are less susceptible to disease attack, reducing his reliance on fungicides.
We will also be joined by Rosalind Martin (Bayer) who will take us through the work being done on pre-symptomatic Septoria wheat disease detection (Rapid Disease Detection), and how this could be used on farm.
Patrick Stephenson (NIAB TAG) will also talk about disease control strategies, and what can be done to manage fungicide resistance.
This webinar will last approximately one hour followed by a Q&A session and is free to attend, but please register using the 'Book Now' button. Following registration, you will receive a link to join the webinar so you can either watch live or catch up at a later date. BASIS and NRoSO points will be available for attending this webinar.
Information on how to manage the most important diseases of wheat and barley is available in the Cereal Disease Management Guide.
