Thursday, 1 October 2020

In the week ending 30 September, the GB liveweight NSL SQQ fell by 10.23p/kg to average 197.81p/kg. Despite this decline, prices remain high for the time of year, up 37p when comparing the same week in 2019. GB auction market throughputs remained steady on the week (-1%), totalling 128,000 head, remaining significantly up on the year (+29%). Market reports suggest more numbers are being put forward due to the colder weather.

The GB deadweight NSL SQQ averaged 462.9p/kg in the week ending 26 September, remaining steady on the week before, falling just -0.8p. Prices continue to trend high for the time of year, still up nearly 90p when compared to the same week last year. Estimated kill stands at 321,000 head, up on the week-on-week by 9,500 head.
