New season liveweight lamb prices steady

Thursday, 23 June 2022

Due to technical difficulties, we can only produce a simple report on GB liveweight sheep prices this week. We hope to have the issue resolved as soon as possible.

For the week ending 22 June, the new season lamb SQQ stood at 310.05p/kg, remaining relatively steady on the previous week, with an increase of just short of 1p/kg. The SQQ for old season lambs stood at 235.84p/kg, a drop of nearly 6p from the previous week.

An estimated 91,900 lambs (new and old season) were sold at GB auction markets during the week, a drop of 3,500 head from the week before.

Cull ewes averaged 111.31p/kg, with an estimated market throughput of 54,000 head.
