Finished GB lamb prices eased again in the latest week. In the week ending 16 June, the liveweight GB NSL SQQ dropped below the 300p/kg mark for the first time since March, down nearly 19p on the previous week to average 298.42p/kg. The OSL SQQ dropped back 19p to average 208.63p/kg.

Estimated throughputs of all lambs at GB auction marts fell 11% (11,200 head) on the week before to total 90,100 head. This is 6% lower than the same week last year, possibly limited by some farmers taking advantage of the good weather to cut silage. The number of old season lambs coming forward continues to drop, accounting for only 8% of total throughputs for the week.

In the week ending 12 June, the GB NSL deadweight price dropped back 4.3p on the previous week to average 665.2p/kg. This puts the measure 172.5p above the same week last year.

Cull ewes averaged £94.94 per head in the week ending 16 June, £6.40 less than the week before.
