GB deadweight price leaps up early in the season on tight supply

The GB OSL liveweight SQQ lamb price continued its upward trajectory in the week ended 12 February, up 8.1p to 238.9p/kg. Throughput was also up again, rising 1% to 104,400 head possibly taking advantage of the current good prices. Cull ewe throughput dropped 4,800 head this week however.

During the week ended 9 February the GB deadweight OSL SQQ leapt up 25.6p to average 496.6p/kg this seasonal increase is early this year. Throughputs were down 23,100 head with the lower numbers adding support to the price.
