This guide provides an introduction to carbon footprinting, explaining what information is used to calculate one and what can be done to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Carbon footprinting tool
This tool provides a simple way to calculate the carbon footprint of a particular crop.
Most data required to run the tool should be available from existing farm records but, in areas where data is not currently available, default values (based on average figures) can be selected.
Once a carbon footprint has been established, users can test how realistic changes to crop management could influence farm efficiency and the associated carbon footprint.
