Join Emma Stack from Focus Farm vets and Ann Coombes from ForFarmers for an interactive meeting looking at calf health/welfare and nutrition, and how to give your calves the best start in life.

A healthy calf has the best chance of achieving its full potential as an efficient and productive dairy cow in the herd. Being able to spot common problems early is the best way to reduce the spread of disease and reduce its severity. Healthy calves equal healthy profit!

Rearing heifer calves is one of the biggest expenses on farm, and often that heifer won’t be making an income until her first lactation, and often no profit until her second. 

At this event you'll learn about: 

• Disease management in calves, such as pneumonia and cryptosporidium 

• The importance of colostrum and the 3 Qs 

• Calf environment and hygiene 

• Calves/youngstock nutrition and weaning
