Join AHDB and Farming Connect for a webinar with strategic dairy farm hosts, Richard and Joe Twose of Maenhir, to find out how to proactively manage herd health.

Healthy cows result in profitable cows. With a growing focus on reducing antibiotic and anthelmintic (wormer) use, it has never been more important to ensure that your farm is engaged in proactive herd health.  As well as calf health, foot health and udder health (mastitis), we also need to consider infectious disease. By establishing current status, putting in place risk assessment, continual monitoring, and considering appropriate vaccines as part of herd management, it is possible to prevent or reduce disease at herd level.

In this webinar Richard and Joe will be joined by veterinary consultant Dr James Breen, from Map of Ag, to discuss how the team at Maenhir can ensure that they are effectively managing their herd to reduce the impact of pathogens and parasites.

In this session you will learn about:

  • Available vaccines and their cost effectiveness
  • Selecting the appropriate vaccines for your farm
  • Monitoring disease in your herd and when to react
  • Timing and storing vaccines for maximum efficacy
