Optimising nitrogen use: Pilton Monitor Farm

Join us at Steanbow Farm for a practical update on improving nitrogen use efficiency (NUE). We’ll explore how to decide what to apply, when to apply it and at what rate, with the aim of improving margins and environmental outcomes. 

What to expect

• Hear from host farmer Mike Christensen and agronomist Adam North
• Demonstration of the recently fitted Yara N-Sensor with Taylored Agri
• Foliar nutrition and biostimulant guidance from Hutchinsons specialist Trevor Smith
• Discussion on timing and rate of nitrogen applications
• Review of monitoring tools, including cab mounted NIRS, satellite scans, drone over flights and tissue testing methodologies
• Open discussion on what works and how to test approaches through the season

A light buffet lunch will be provided.

Please bring suitable footwear and clothing for a field walk.
