Join us for this webinar to learn more about new dairy breeding indexes being released this year tohelp improve cow health and your breeding programme.

You’ll hear from Marco Winters, AHDB Head of Animal Genetics, and Fern Pearston, AHDB Animal genetics manager, who will introduce the new indexes, what they mean and how to use them when making your breeding decisions.

Marco will also explain the move from a fixed genetic reference base to a rolling base, starting in April 2021.

Finally, Andrew Rutter will share his practical experience of using UK genetic indexes when making breeding decisions for his herd and what these new indexes mean for him.

The webinar will help you understand:

  • The new Gestation Length and HealthyCow indexes to be released in April
  • The new EnviroCow index to be released in August as well as the new Feed Efficiency evaluations, developed in partnership with SRUC-EGENES
  • The transition from a fixed base to a rolling base being implemented in April
  • Practical experience of using UK genetic indexes when making breeding decisions for a dairy herd

We want to make the session as interactive as possible, so we’d invite you to sign up and share your experience and raise questions for discussion around the topic.
