You are invited to join us for the next instalment at Loppington Monitor Farm.

We look forward to welcoming you for an in depth look soils, manures and how to get the most from livestock in the arable rotation.

Lizzie Sagoo (ADAS) will discuss the value of organic inputs and how to make the most of them as well as taking us through the results of an AHDB-funded research project, which investigated the benefits of running sustainable beef systems on arable units.

We will look at the economics of the project with Mark Topliff (AHDB) as well as looking to see the impact of organic inputs on the Farmbench results. And James Evans (Grass Roots Farming) will discuss how he uses livestock to improve soil health.

What will this meeting cover?

  • Soil quality and benefit to the following crop
  • How to change soil
  • The value of muck, and when you should buy it in
  • Effectiveness of weed control
  • Cost-benefit analysis
  • Livestock performance
  • Benefits of muck/organic inputs and how to value them

Registration and refreshments will be available from 10:00 with presentations commencing at 10:15 and lunch will be provided.

BASIS and NRoSO points will be available for attending.
