Join us at this collaborative event where you will hear from James Daniel from Precision Grazing and dairy farmer Tom Gregory about maximising grazed forage utilisation on your farm.

This meeting will cover

  • How to assess your current system: grazing infrastructure, estimate DM (dry matter) production and requirements on farm
  • How to start monitoring grass/forage yield
  • How to use farm software such as Agrinet, to track grass growth and forecast your forage growth pattern
  • How to improve your forage quality and quantity with different grazing management

There will be an interactive farm walk with Tom and James. You will be looking at how to measure your grass growth with tools such as plate metering and soil structure assessments, and what equipment and infrastructure you may need to make simple changes.

To book your place, please email Samantha.read@fwagsw.org.uk

This meeting is one in a series put on for the Triple Axe Winter Seminar Series, in collaboration with FWAG, Upper Axe Catchment, Environment Agency, Blackdown Hills AOB and Dorset AOB.
