Greenhouse gases in crops

10:00am - 11:00am

We're supporting the NFU's Countryside COP with our own webinar: Greenhouse gases in crops.

The impact of farming on the climate has been very much in the national headlines. The AHDB, CHAP and NFU commissioned research to build the consensus for baseline greenhouse gas emissions for cropping sectors across the United Kingdom, to identify hotspots for improvement and to provide options for mitigation.

Hear AHDB's Senior Environment Scientist Harley Stoddart explain why we’re doing this, what crops we’re covering, some examples of highlight results and explain some of the complexities of comparison, including different regional conditions (rainfall, soil type/temp etc).

He will also cover some of the innovations and technologies considered and sum up with some of the things that can be done now.

The full report will be published and launched in the New Year.

The event will be chaired by AHDB's Head of Environment Jon Foot. Panelists include CHAP's Innovation Network lead, Harry Langford and NFU Adviser Allie Hesketh
