Dumfries: Breeding a better herd for better returns
The UK dairy herd’s genetic progress has accelerated at a fast pace since the introduction of genomic evaluations over a decade ago.
Join us for a session with industry experts to learn about the latest developments in genomics and genetics, and you’ll also hear from host farmers the Harveys about their approach to breeding.
During the day you’ll move through three interactive stations:
- Station 1 – Genomics with Marco Winters, AHDB head of animal genetics
- Station 2 – GenoCells with Richard Miller, NMR genomics business manager
- Station 3 – Genetics with David Guthrie, Genus Genetic Services Manager
The meeting is a great opportunity for you and your farm advisors to fine tune your breeding for a better herd and better returns.
Please note children under the age of 16 and dogs are not allowed at the event, even if they are staying in the car.
