9:30am - 1:00pm

Shelford Village Hall, Church Street, Shelford, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire

Join us for the next Bingham Monitor Farm meeting, where we will catch up on what has been happening at the farm since we last met.

We will also be joined by soils and cultivation specialist, Philip Wright, to discuss the soils at the Monitor Farm and what interventions, if any, might be needed.

Due to the heavy rain and 40mph winds forecasted for Wednesday 21 February, we have moved the meeting to the village hall (originally, we were meeting on farm, then going to the village hall). We apologise for the inconvenience that this change may have caused.

This meeting will cover

  • Monitor Farm update
  • Soils at Manor Farm
  • Getting soil structure right
  • Effects of current management approaches on soils
  • Soil compaction
  • Compaction and yield
  • Waterlogging
  • Trafficking and tyre pressures
  • Tine vs. disc drills
  • Using cover crops to improve soils
  • Dealing with residues

Registration and refreshments will be available from 9:30am, with presentations commencing at 9:45am. Lunch will be provided.

BASIS and NRoSO points will be available.

The event is free to attend, but please register to allow us to cater accordingly.
