Dairy Improvement Programme - Wales

Improving herd health management is at the heart of our dairy improvement programme in Wales, which will also expand our strategic farm initiative.

The initiative is made possible with a £6.5M investment over five years from the Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, which is funded by the Welsh Government and the European Union.

HerdAdvance

A key part of the programme to help Welsh dairy farmers lift profitability and performance by focusing on improved herd health management and disease control.

Strategic Farms

We recognise that farmers learn best from each other and our strategic farms encouraging 'farmer to farmer’ learning through regular on-farm meetings as well as openly sharing their figures against our key performance indicators to show what can be achieved.

Further details will follow about how you can get involved with this initiative in Wales.
