Coronavirus: advice for farmers and growers

A message from Jane King, AHDB CEO

To our farmers, growers and supply-chain businesses,

We are all living in the most extraordinary of times. The speed of change is breath taking, and to take the right decisions for our businesses and our families relies on having good access to relevant information.

Supporting our industry remains a priority for AHDB. We realise some businesses are in crisis, while others are having to significantly change the way they work or the markets they supply.

For all of us, the immediate future remains uncertain.

For our part, AHDB will be delivering events online wherever possible and producing the latest ‘bite-sized’ market information via video, webinars and podcasts – all accessible at the click of a button.

Our market intelligence team is busier than ever delivering up-to-date market analysis and commentary to help you make informed business decisions based on the latest available data and insight.

To bring all the latest advice together in one place, we have created specific coronavirus-related pages here on our website where you can access the latest Government advice for employers and employees, links to other industry organisations, frequently asked questions and a wealth of tools and business information.

The message we are getting loud and clear is that we all need to work together during these times, to feed the nation.

But AHDB works best when there is a two-way conversation with you. Our services will need to adapt and adjust to provide the right services for you and your business. If you want to contact us, our coronavirus help desk is available at 024 7601 9361 or email coronavirus.helpdesk@ahdb.org.uk

Take care, and remember what we can all achieve when we come together.

Jane King AHDB CEO

Consumer marketing

Given the recent developments in relation to the coronavirus, the Market Development team have been working in the last week to review their activity, and ensure that it delivers solutions in line with the rapidly changing demands of the UK consumer.

We have amended our current social media strategy in the short term to address the changing situation for consumers, and will continue to review content, messages and how we talk to consumers regularly over the coming days and weeks.
