SPP rise slower than recent weeks

For the week ending 23 April, the EU spec SPP rose to 164.92p/kg, an increase of 3.18p on the week before. The estimated slaughter this week was 188,600 head, up 3% on last week, with carcase weights averaging 92.79kg.

The EU spec APP rose to 167.83p/kg for the week ending 16 April, an increase of 3.37p from the week before and narrowing the price gap of the two series to 6.09p.
