You are invited to join us for the next Wisbech Monitor Farm meeting of the season, hosted by Andrew and Sam Melton!

We look forward to welcoming you to catch up on what has been happening at the Monitor Farm since we last met and discuss what is required to move away from fossil-fuel based fertilisers: the practices, technology and mind frames.

What will this meeting cover?

Andrew and Sam will be joined by Martin Lines (arable farmer and contractor, South Cambridgeshire, and chair of the Nature Friendly Farming Network UK) to discuss the practicalities of moving away from high-input systems.

  • What does a healthy wheat crop look like? Chasing yield over margins? Challenging the stereotypes.
  • IPM techniques to reduce inputs: rotation management, habitat creation, variety choice and livestock
  • Establishing carbon and biodiversity baselines to access markets

Registration, breakfast, and refreshments will be available from 8:30 with presentations commencing at 8:50. The event is free to attend, but please register to allow us to cater accordingly and advise us of any special dietary requirements.

BASIS and NRoSO points will be available for attending.
