Vale of Glamorgan Monitor Farm Meeting – Alternative cropping – What are the options?

You are invited to join us for the third Vale of Glamorgan Monitor Farm Meeting.  

We look forward to welcoming you to Sealands Farm. Dan Moore will report on the condition of the winter crops, his latest grain marketing plans and update on the planned field try outs for harvest 2023.  

The meeting will then focus on the profitability of break crops. Guest speaker, Sarah Cook, ADAS Research Scientist will review the options, including rye, triticale and pulses.

We will cover: 

• Crop choice to compliment rotation 

• Variety selection  

• Pest, weed and disease considerations  

• Financials – markets and margins  

• Regional practicalities  

Registration and Lunch will be at 12pm with presentations commencing at 12.20.  

BASIS and NRoSO points will be available for attending.
