Pilton Monitor Farm: Summer launch meeting – A festival of modern mixed farming

You are invited to Steanbow Farm to join us for the launch of Mike and Neil Christensen’s tenure as new monitor farmers.

We look forward to welcoming you to a well-known and respected family operation for an introductory farm tour and to set the scene for the coming three years of arable-related discovery and discussion.

This meeting will cover

• Farm system introduction and tour – Mike and Neil will outline how the arable enterprise integrates with dairy and poultry on the farm with an associated discussion of machinery and wider policy
• Crop walk – Farmer manager Alister and Pearce Seeds agronomist Adam North will lead a walk of some of the wheat and other rotational elements
• SWOT Analysis – Having seen the system this is your chance to feedback on the current state of play and potentially guide subsequent meeting topics and discussions – a frank and open exchange about site-specific and shared (regional) challenges and opportunities

Registration and light refreshments will be available from 3:30pm with the programme commencing at 4:00pm. A BBQ supper will be provided from around 6:30pm.

BASIS and NRoSO points will be available for attendees.

The event is free to attend, but please book a place to allow us to cater accordingly.
