Penrith Monitor Farm: Regenerative agriculture and its relationship to soil health
Join us for the last Cereals & Oilseeds Penrith Monitor Farm meeting of the winter where we will be catching up on what has been happening at the Monitor Farm since we last met and will be joined by Tom Fairfax to discuss regenerative farming.
This meeting will cover
Guest Speaker Tom Fairfax from Mindrum Estate, Northumberland, will present a talk on his journey through regenerative farming:
- What he has done over years of careful management and how he has done it
- What is he still doing and planning to continue doing in the future?
- His take on maximising livestock integration within a mixed farming system
- How has his management approach and regenerative journey affected his cost of production and business efficiency?
- ‘Soil health’ – What does this look like? Tom will bring his microscopes to demonstrate a different view of our soils. With this activity, attendees are welcome to bring a soil sample of their own should they wish
If you want to examine your soils, please bring a normal sample-sized bag.
Registration and dinner will be available from 5:00pm, with presentations commencing at 6:00pm. A hot dinner will be provided.
BASIS and NRoSO points will be available for attending.
The event is free to attend, but please register to allow us to cater accordingly.
